Macaroni & Cheese
Today it’s rainy and gross outside. We went to my friend’s daughter’s first birthday party at the beach. Luckily, we had a pavilion. This is what the storm looked like as it rolled in over the Gulf of Mexico:

The storm was an unwelcome guest, needless to say! However… it was still a wonderful party, Tasha! You did a fantastic job and your daughter is amazing. Isn’t princess Madi so precious?!

This kind of weather makes me crave comfort food. And nothing says “comfort food” like homemade macaroni and cheese! I got this recipe from my friend Katie, then changed a few things (typical for me, I guess). Enjoy!
12 oz uncooked macaroni noodles
3 tbsp butter or margarine
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp ground dry mustard
1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded cheddar
1 cup shredded Parmesan
Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
In a separate pan, melt butter over medium or medium-low heat (don’t let it burn!). Stir in dry ingredients and Worcestershire sauce until blended. Stir in milk and bring to a boil for 1 minute or until sauce thickens. Add cheddar and stir until melted. Mix with noodles in 9×13 glass baking dish. Top with Parmesan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until parmesan looks a little crispy on top.
She’s so cute! Fun party- thanks for coming!
