Goodbye
Today 41 family members and friends gathered in my uncle Tim‘s house so we could honor his life, make some sense of what happened, and say goodbye to him.

I will remember him as…
… the boat captain who visited almost every coast in the world
… the guy who always offered me a cold bottle of root beer when I would visit his house
… the man who made the best crawfish etoufee you ever tasted
… the family member who, when I was a little kid, would tickle me until I peed in my pants
… the uncle who started all of our conversations with, “Hey, girl, whatcha doin?”

1977: my mom (age 22), me, and uncle Tim (age 19)
