Texas Sheet Cake
Back in October, we traveled to Clearwater to attend my niece’s first birthday party. My sister-in-law’s aunt Gladys brought her Texas Sheet Cake. It was amazing and I was lucky enough to get the recipe from her. I still haven’t made it because I’m a lazy fool (only legitimate excuse I can come up with right now). This cake is worth the effort!

#1 Sift or mix together in large bowl and set aside:
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
#2 Bring to boil:
2 sticks margarine
1 cup water
4 TBSP Cocoa
#3 In small bowl, beat:
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 TBSP vinegar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
ADD #2 & #3 to #1 mix.
Pour in greased cookie sheet or 11×17 pan.
Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.
ICING
(prepare while cake is baking!)
Bring to boil:
1 stick margarine
4 TBSP cocoa
6 TBSP milk
Add above mixture to:
1 box 10-x sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts
Spread on “Hot Cake” as soon as you take it from the oven!
After cooling, cut into bars.

It should be called Texas Shoot Me Cake
That little angel looks like an extremely cute Dr. Seuss character. Can I have her?
