Vacation, Part 2
After stopping at Therapie, we headed to the beach to meet some friends for lunch. We chose Singleton’s Seafood Shack in Mayport, a local dive that Nate and Julz frequently go to. (If you check out page 108 of the May 2009 issue of Coastal Living, you’ll see it listed as a fave.) Fancy it is not, but the food is fresh and good, and so cheap you’ll hardly believe it. My snapper sandwich with cole slaw was less than $6. Where else can you do that?

This sauce was sold at the checkout counter. In my delicate pregnant condition, I thought it best to not try. My colon feels clean enough, thank you.

We walked around back. It smelled like rotting dead fish, I almost ralphed, and I think the dock nearly collapsed when we stepped on it, but I got some good shots of the fishing boats and I felt the whole experience made our vacation more colorful.

After our tummies were full and I had minor heartburn, we headed over to Julz and Nate’s house. Our Nathan, Noah, and their son Donovan demonstrated every loud toy they could get their hands on, including a drum set (at 21 months old, Noah has more rhythm than I do). My eardrums may have ruptured and bled, but it was so nice to visit with old friends.

Does Julz look familiar? She should!

Yay! How wonderful! Thank you so much for the visit, it’s our turn next for sure. I love love love the pics. We love you all!
