I had his doll. And his record.

My first record was a single of “9 to 5″ by Dolly Parton. I still know every word of the first verse.

My first record album was “Thriller” by none other than Michael Jackson. I was obsessed with him. When I was 6, I got a Michael Jackson doll for Christmas. It was the size of a Barbie, complete with a flashy blue jacket and of course only one white glove. I thought it was the coolest present ever. I would play the record and make the doll dance to all the screaming fans (a.k.a. my collection of Barbie dolls). All was fantastic in my playroom until my brother David broke his head off. I cried for days.

I can’t believe Michael Jackson is dead.

Smooth Criminal
Beat It
Billie Jean
Thriller
Rock With You
Bad

Thank you for posting this, I wondered if you’d post anything on him. I think it’s sunk in a little better this morning, but I am really in disbelief that the “king of pop” is gone.
My first record was a Jackson 5. Of course you know Thriller was next. I’ll have his songs in my head for the next few days, already are….

    RIP Michael Jackson!!!!
