The Great Rebellion
Independence Day, which Sam the Brit affectionately refers to as The Great Rebellion, has come and gone. I have 118 photos to document my favorite holiday, but, lucky for you, I have chosen a mere 30 to share via my blog. Let’s recap, shall we?
Scott and Ashley, husband and wife, are friends with Eric and Darlene. They are leaving for Israel this week, where they’ll be missionaries for the next two years. Not sure how, but this is the only picture I got of Scott. Maybe he was avoiding me after overhearing me say that my postpartum stomach looks much like a scrotum.

Taylor, Taylor, Taylor. What a difference a year makes. Last year, you looked like a little girl. This year, you look like a woman.

Nathan, you are a handsome boy. And you look like an Old Navy ad. Oops.

Amy, the daughter of Sam the Brit and Monica, looked festive in her Great Rebellion shirt and hair bow.

The Destin harbor… home sweet home.

Sarah and her mom Kim, who was visiting from south Florida.

Pretty Darlene and her son John, who tried to sink our John boat in the Destin pass. Funny story. No one offered to help him, not even the “cop” boat.

Gag. What is the point? If you’re not going to get a buzz, why bother taste vomit? My opinion, anyway.

These old planes kept flying overhead. It was totally cool, made me think of Pearl Harbor for some reason, and the kids were fascinated by the show.

Noah, watching the planes.

Noah, hanging out with Sam and Monica.

Sam and Monica’s son Will has changed a lot from last year, as well.

Earlier in the day, several of the Shoreline Church staff members took a boat out to Crab Island and passed out 1,000 coozies. It says: “My church has a better beer selection than your bar.” This was to promote our Tuesday night services at McGuire’s Irish Pub.

Sarah and Taylor:

Shiny happy people (Andy, Noah, Darlene, Nathan, Monica, and Amy)…

Crossing the street went MUCH better than last year and I didn’t have to cuss anyone out. Score!

Noah laughed hysterically over the illegal fireworks from Alabama.

The Destin pass was crowded, but gorgeous as always.

Jonah looks weird in this photo, but he was pretty much camera shy that night and I couldn’t leave him out of the blog post. That would’ve been terrible!

Paul. Rock star. Husband to Kim. Father to Sarah.

Eric. The man. The pastor. The legend.

Dani. Short for Daniel. Pronounced Donnie or Donny. Not pronounced Danny. Don’t ask me – I just work here. The chick is his wife Carmen. Pronounced Car-Men, just like it looks.

Denise and Jadyn. Denise gave birth to Carmen. Carmen gave birth to Jadyn. And Denise grew up in The Bahamas. Don’t be jealous.

The only picture of me from July 4th. Same boob, same holiday. Different baby, different year.

Oh, wait! There are actually TWO pictures of me from July 4th. My bad.

The reason I keep getting knocked up:

See all those lights? Those are boats on Crab Island! Crazy crowded!

I love how the fireworks reflect off the water.

Ahh… my favorite holiday in my favorite place with [some of] my favorite people!

I love the 4th. We wanted to get down that way, but hung in the View. It was nice.
I love the pictures! We had such a great weekend. Thanks for blogging us and reminding us how blessed we all are.
