Thanksgiving 2009 Recap

December 1, 2009

Since Thanksgiving 2008, my hair and waistline have both grown 7 inches and Taylor looks about 7 years older. My, what a difference a year makes.

Andy liked our Halloween pumpkin watermelon so much that, oops, he did it again. He carved a turkey into a watermelon and carved “give thanx” into a small pumpkin (yes, he intentionally spelled “thanks” with an x). Classy, no?

As with every year, we spent lunch at my mom’s house and dinner at Andy’s parents’ house.

My mom got her baby fix. Several times.

My kids bonded with their cousin Ava.

I love how Nathan’s tongue is poking in between his teeth.

Taylor didn’t put up too much of a fight when I tried to take her picture.

Don’t you hate when a picture looks perfect on your digital camera’s display screen, so you don’t bother to re-take the shot, but when you pull it up on your computer, you realize it was actually blurry? I HATE THAT. For example:

My brother Rich cooperated with my picture-taking.

My brother Ben? Not so much.

Of course, my brother David avoided the camera altogether.

My step-sister mom’s dog Lacey was eager to pose.

Andy made carving the turkey a work of art, once again. This is the smoked turkey. We also had a fried one. How do you prepare YOUR turkey?

My mom, as per usual, took her afternoon nap with her favorite child.

I chatted it up with my step-dad Harold and his mama Thelma. I kept thinking how difficult the day must’ve been for her, as it was her first Thanksgiving in 60 years spent without her husband.

Seriously, am I the only person in my family who is NOT photogenic? {sigh}

Of course, I was way too full for dessert and I knew we had another feast an hour later… but… but… oh, pumpkin roll, you had me at hello!

Next stop: Andy’s parents’ house.

Andy’s brother Matt is single, ladies. Watch out!

Blurriness ruined another photo:

Apparently we all got the “purple” memo.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times… Andy’s sister Sarah is hot! And single. So, eligible bachelors, what are you waiting for? Send me your bio and photo – I’ll see what I can do.

OMG, this little muffin has me wrapped around his finger!

That boy is ALWAYS holding a car or truck!

Is their table inviting or what? Beautiful!

Thankfully, Jonah slept long enough for us to eat.

So, how was YOUR Thanksgiving? If you blogged about it, put the link in your comment!

You inspired me to get off my butt and go through our pics. What better to do on a rainy day huh? Call me at home. http://www.ellementsstudios.com/amysthoughts/?p=918
