I don’t know if the question is whether he deserved it or whether anyone in the mom’s position would’ve done the same thing. If I knew my mom carried a gun on her hip, I certainly wouldn’t be trying to scare her by jumping out with a ski mask on. It would be anyone’s first instinct to shoot if they are already carrying it!
This is exactly why I will never own a handgun. Ever. Did you know that if you own a gun-of any kind- in your home your chances of being a victim of a homicide go UP 80%. (This is from a study done by the Center for Disease Control) Of course she shot him. It was an impulse. Do I want to impulsively kill my daughter sneaking in to the house after curfew? My husband coming in to surprise me? No. Nothing I own is worth shooting a someone over if they were to try and rob me. No item is worth the life of another. The second amendment does not give us the right to be idiots. It gives us the right to bare arms in the case we need to defend ourselves against our government or foreign enemies and to put food on the table. It’s easier to get a gun in most states than it is to get birth control pills.
Stories like this infuritate me. Such a waste. A complete waste. That poor Mother.
Heck yes he deserved to be shot! How was she supposed to know it wasn’t some rapist attacking her? I’m all for shoot first ask questions later.
What stood out to me was that he was 21. Mom: 37.
Dang. I’d be packing too, with that kind of history.
That poor woman. What a lose/lose situation.
