Bistro Bijoux

My friend Leslie celebrated her birthday this week. When her husband Bob contacted me about a surprise party for her at Bistro Bijoux, the restaurant they own, I was so full of excitement that I almost started hyperventilating.

Dinner with no kids?
A date with my husband?
At the best restaurant in town?
With really cool people?

It was a win-win-win-win situation, no doubt! I got dressed to impress (meaning I threw on the same ol’ crap I always wear, put on eye make-up in an attempt to look less dead, and then had my daughter suggest that maybe next time I let her help me with both my clothing and cosmetics… so, needless to say, my confidence level was at an all-time high), and met our party of 12 at 6.

The couple voted Most Likely to Conceive in high school. Not really.

I like their decor…

…especially the bar area. When I look at it, I hear Love in This Club inside my head. Not that Andy and I would do THAT in their restaurant. That would be both awkward and inappropriate!

Leslie and Bob are so wonderful! When you go to Bistro Bijoux, ask for them, and tell them I sent you.

This was not MY drink, since I prefer having healthy babies. But isn’t it pretty? I bet it tasted good, too.

Everything on the menu sounds heavenly. It was so hard to make a decision.

Andy got the pecan-crusted cobia. It was melt-in-your-mouth delicious!

I went with Bob’s recommendation of the filet, topped with a tempura lobster tail and hollandaise sauce. OH SWEET MOTHER OF JESUS. Last meal material, people. Glorious in every way. Definitely in the top 5 meals of my entire life.
