Haunted?

Last night at dinner, we discussed scary movies with Sam and Monica. Old horror flicks like Jaws, It, Nightmare on Elm Street, and The Shining still make us shudder, even after all these years.
Andy told us about this abandoned church in Miramar Beach. There are million dollar homes all around, but the few streets immediately surrounding it appear desolate. He speculated that perhaps the old building was haunted, and that maybe the grounds were cursed.
We were intrigued, so we drove by it after leaving the best meal of all time. I mean, why not scare the crap out of ourselves at 10:30 on a Friday night? Monica and I, both knocked up in delicate conditions, were sure our brave husbands could protect us from evil. Besides, Sam is a pastor, which by default gave us a guaranteed win over any demonic spirits.
Daytona Street looked like a scene from a horror movie, indeed. It was dark. It was spooky. Turning off the van lights, walking around the area without flashlights, and saying every what if scenario that came to mind really helped set the mood. I half expected Freddy Krueger to jump out of the bushes and chase us down. That obviously did not happen.
So, yeah, sorry to get your hopes up, but it was pretty uneventful.
