Organizational Tips: cleaning supplies

August 28, 2010

This one is easy. Put all* cleaning supplies in one cabinet, preferably in the cabinet above your washer/dryer. If you have young children or there’s any chance young children will be in your home, it’s mandatory that cleaning supplies be out of their reach. And if you don’t take my advice on that one, you should be ashamed of yourself, and the number for the Poison Control Center is (800) 222-1222.

*I do have one exception to this rule. I have a shower caddy that hangs from my shower head (obviously, this is also out of the reach of children). I keep one bottle of clorox spray there at all times, and also one hanging scrubby brush. Why? If those two things are in my shower, I find that I clean my shower more often. Because you know when you remember to clean your shower? When you’re in it. You know when you forget to clean your shower? As soon as you get out. Leave the two necessary supplies (spray cleaner and scrubby brush) in your shower at all times, and this will never again be an issue for you. Just please don’t use the scrubby brush to also clean your body, because that is Le Nasty (which should go without saying, but I know some of you are super freaks).

Lori you are the super freak! Hehehe. I do the same with the shower cleaner thing btw. Doesn’t get done otherwise.
